Due to maximum class sizes, it may become necessary to place new registrants on a waiting list for the next available group.  While Orthodox Learning will make every effort to place participants into an active section within four (4) weeks – some group’s starting dates may be unavoidably delayed up to eight (8) weeks after registration (holy days, Lenten seasons, vacations, facilitator availability, etc).

These classes are designed for community leaders, educators, religious leaders, parents, youth workers, and others interested in learning more about the Holy Orthodox Christian Faith.  Non-Orthodox participants are always welcome!

 

Each class is conducted entirely ONLINE.  Each week is a new lesson.  Format includes lecture notes, discussions, readings, quizzes, interactive activities, etc.  ALL courses remain active 24/7, except for noted website maintenance times.

These courses have been designed for all High School students (ages 12-18) interested in learning more about the Holy Orthodox Faith.  Once again, Non-Orthodox participants are always welcome.

ORTHO01:      Overview of Orthodoxy

This course will explore the meaning/symbolism associated with many of the common practices in use in our parishes today.  In addition, it will also reflect on the history and development of these traditions.

MARK01:        Gospel of Mark             

This program is intended to serve as an online bible study – complete with study notes, readings, reflections, and ongoing discussion topics.  It can be used as a standalone module, or in conjunction with already existing activities (where appropriate).

An introduction to the twelve (12) Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church.  Each feast is studied from the historical, theological, and iconographic perspectives.
